Dave Moravec ‘84 is a respected keynote speaker, storyteller, entrepreneurial therapist, and accomplished business leader with over 40 years of experience in a variety of industries. A Chicago native, Moravec graduated from IWU with a degree in business administration and has been starting, building, and growing the profitability, performance, and value of organizations ever since. In 2020 he relocated to Cincinnati to become the current President and CEO of the Colerain Chamber of Commerce, splitting his time between business consulting, event planning, and his lifelong passion of writing.
In Moravec’s debut novel, Echoes Across the Tracks: Life Lessons Through Unexpected Connections, an encounter with a New Orleans cab driver leads Charlie, a business consultant and author, to hear Echoes Across the Tracks. Expecting a routine flight to O’Hare Airport, Charlie finds himself, instead, drawn into a 20-hour adventure aboard a high-speed Amtrak train covering an amazing 944-mile journey. During his travels, Charlie encounters charismatic business people and fun characters that hop on and off 18 historic train stations in a feel good story that offers a personal transformation. In the hours that pass, newfound friendships lead to lessons that prompt reflection in the reader’s own experiences and life choices.
